Los Angeles, CA –March 14, 2007— El Clasificado continues its tradition of hosting instructive community events by presenting "Hogar, Mi Dulce Hogar" on Sunday, March 18th at the Industry Hills Expo Center. The expo will educate the Latino community about important information everyone should know before they purchase their first home.
Government agency representatives from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA), the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission (LACDC), the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW), and the Los Angeles City Housing Department (LAHD) will offer educational presentations, answer questions, and offer advice to the expected 600 guests in attendance. The presenters will be on hand to help first-time homebuyers decide what is the best loan available to them, what financial assistance programs exist, and when they need permits for home changes or remodeling.
"While the purchase of a home represents the realization of a dream for many, the actual process of buying one can seem rather daunting for those who are not familiar," affirmed Martha de la Torre, Founder and Publisher of El Clasificado. "With Hogar, Mi Dulce Hogar we hope to help Latinos in our community achieve the dream of buying their first home by offering a free expo where they can learn more about the home-buying process directly from experts. Our goal is to empower Spanish-speaking first-time homebuyers by providing them with all the information they need in order to make an informed decision regarding this monumental purchase."
The expo will consist of 44 booth exhibits with helpful Real Estate professionals available to answer questions about the services they offer. Booth holders will also include financial institutions such as Countrywide, Wells Fargo, and Washington Mutual among others.
The presentations and booth exhibits will be presented in a comfortable, non-intimidating environment in the Industry Hills Expo Center’s "Pavilion" from 1pm - 5pm on Sunday, March 18th. Potential first-time homebuyers are encouraged to attend and in addition to receiving free information, enjoy free snacks, music, and even a recreation area for children.
