The University of Maryland School of Medicine's Department of Medicine is seeking to hire a Director for our newly launched Sarcoidosis Program. This position will collaborate closely with the Chair of the Department of Medicine and the Divisions of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Cardiology and Infectious Diseases, as well as other cross-functional groups at University of Maryland School of Medicine. Essential functions of the position include: Provide strategic direction for the multi-disciplinary program, to include establishing goals, objectives and implementation plans for both the Sarcoidosis program Expand diagnostic capabilities for sarcoidosis and implement novel immunomodulatory therapeutics Train new generation physician scientists in advancing management of sarcoidosis Support outreach programs that allow screening and linkage to care of sarcoidosis patients Lead the management of overall Sarcoidosis program performance and quality improvement. Support the development of research agenda, study protocols, and outcomes analysis for sarcoidosis Seek new grant development for training, and advancing new strategies for linkage, diagnosis, and inter-disciplinry management of sarcoidosis Support donor and community relations. Provide direct patient care related to the program. For the right candidate, this position may also include an administrative component as Associate/Senior Associate Dean, Faculty Affairs. Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Medicine, this position will be responsible for program development for tenure track faculty which enhance diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives for faculty. Essential functions of this position include: Partner with the the recently formed Center for Advanced Research Training and Innovation to expand the mentoring and training opportunities for physician faculty. Collaborate on DEI program development with the existing faculty leaders in SOM Faculty Affairs Support strategic alignment of the coexisting program teams within the School of Medicine Partner with UMB community initiatives and lead SOM based initiatives.
