Programming Coordinator A part-time position is available at the Marengo-Union Library District. Applying candidates required to have previous experience in program development and customer service. Flexible hours. $12.00 an hour. The position's responsibilities include: Plan and coordinate library public programs and promotional events, secure and coordinate appearances by outside speakers and authors, work with the Information Services Manager to ensure programs meet library goals and objectives, establish relationships with museums, organizations, and businesses to broaden the range of programs offered by the library. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. One to three years of community relations and customer service related experience; library experience preferred. Essential Duties/ Major Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to: Develop, coordinate, evaluate, and publicize adult, young adult, and children's programs including outreach. Develop and maintain partnerships/relationships with area museums, government agencies, businesses, art agencies, and city Parks and Recreation departments to provide a broader range of programs. Recruit, coach, and evaluate outside program providers. Write, copy, and plan promotional materials for events. Participate in all special events and promotion committees to ensure programs are appropriate for event. Provide circulation desk duties when needed. Provide Homebound services as needed.
