Position Available: Protective Behaviors Educator The person in this position is an employee of the Family Support Center, a community- based agency, while the activities of the job are located primarily in schools throughout Chippewa County. Family Support Center (FSC) is a not-for-profit anti-violence agency focusing on domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking and child abuse prevention in the Chippewa Valley. At FSC we share a commitment to equity and social change; our employees know they are making a difference every day. The Protective Behaviors Educator position has the primary responsibility of teaching classes Kindergarten through grade 12 that provide students with information and helps them build skills to develop healthy relationships, enhance their safety, and cope with potential abuse in their lives. Themes include: recognizing abuse, harassment, bullying and potential abuse and dangerous situations; learning assertiveness skills; building healthy relationship skills; consent; and talking to trusted adults about abuse. The position is 25-30 hours per week during the school year. Benefits include vacation and sick leave. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience teaching youth in a classroom setting and have thorough knowledge and understanding of sexual assault and domestic violence. Additional qualifications include a bachelor's degree in education or a human services related field , organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
