Full-Time Opportunity for a Claims Representative Where: 2061 State Street Hamden, CT Hours: Business hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Key Functions: Investigates and settles or recommends for settlement accident liability claims, including property damage, bodily injury and subrogation claims, assigned by the Senior Claims Officer. May be called upon to respond to the scene of accidents to collect physical and witness information. Obtains appropriate information from witnesses, claimants, employees, law agencies, attorneys and other sources to be used in the adjustment of claims. **When Licensed** - Settles claims within established limits of authority following a full investigation of liability, or recommends settlements for higher amounts that require other approval, under the supervision of the Senior Claims Officer in New Haven; may be called up to assist the Senior Claims Officer in other divisions, as required, in the investigation and administration of pending claims. Qualifications: Minimum possession of a High School Diploma/GED. Minimum of 3 (three) years of professional full-time experience in the area of accident investigation, claims adjustment. Ability to obtain State of Connecticut Casualty Adjuster's License (All lines) within 18 (eighteen) months. Knowledgeable of State of Connecticut statutes and regulations regarding accident claims adjustment and Workers' Compensation is essential. Ability to respond to the scene of accidents within the New Haven transit service area on a 24 hour on-call basis is essential.
