Position Description: The Department of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for a 12-month faculty position. The candidate will join a productive team of senior and junior teacher scholars. Applications from underrepresented minorities are particularly encouraged. Candidates with expertise in neurology, pediatrics, movement science, evidence-based practice, and related topics are particularly encouraged to apply. All candidates with research interests relevant to rehabilitation will be fully considered. Candidates must have an earned doctorate. Preference will be given to candidates with an academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.) The ideal candidate will also possess board certification in a clinical specialty and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications. Expectations for teaching and service are negotiable relative to level of extramural funding. The diverse translational and clinical research activities across the Thomas Jefferson University community and Jefferson Health System afford opportunities for collaboration. Currently the faculty are engaged in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, translational, and clinical research, as well as education research inclusive of the scholarship of teaching and learning. The Department features research laboratory spaces with state-of-the-art instrumentation in addition to 10,000 sq. feet of classrooms and teaching laboratories.
