Human Resources Generalist Assistant Full Time, Exempt Position Summary The Human Resource Generalist Assistant is a professional human resources position supporting the human resources and payroll functions carrying out a wide range of duties in one or more of the following areas: compensation, benefits, recruitment, leave, and payroll. Under general direction, this position supports Human Resources and Payroll assignments which require work within established standards. Work may include supporting human resource and payroll functions while ensuring fair and consistent application of appropriate laws, policies, and regulations and actively supporting college efforts towards diversity on campus. The successful applicant will have the following qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Associate Degree and two (2) years office experience or combined equivalency of education and experience. One year of professional human resource experience within an academic setting. One year of experience with PPMS and NEOGOV or other Human Resource Information Systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize unplanned but required duties and negotiate priorities while considering regulatory issues, process requirements, and ongoing confirmed deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences and abilities. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resource office practices and procedures as well as State and Federal rules and regulations. Possess a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office software products and be able to use a computer for written communication, data entry, spreadsheets and report creation. Strong ability to interact with others at all organizational levels. Experience working in a unionized environment. Demonstrated commitment to and interest in diversity, equity and inclusion and the ability to support a multicultural workplace and educational environment.
