We are looking for a Director, Sales to lead the sales team for the West Coast region at Guardian US and grow revenue among current and new clients by creating compelling sales materials and custom RFP responses. The ideal candidate for this position will be a masterful relationship builder that can translate leads to revenue and who is creative, innovative, collaborative, with a passion for media, news, and the core values that make The Guardian so unique. Department: Commercial, Sales Reports to: SVP of Sales, North America Normal location: San Francisco, CA Terms and conditions: Permanent, full time Major Duties: Call on identified agencies and clients within West Coast region and related markets Immediately leverage existing book of relationships to open doors for new accounts and position The Guardian brand as a top news media partner Heavy prospecting with persuasive and strategic thinking abilities Effectively manage all aspects of the given business/territory - demonstrating understanding of the clients' business, building & managing relationships within the client base Obtain RFP's and respond with strategic proposals to clients that maximize their ROI Proactively develop and identify new revenue opportunities and target accounts/verticals through the local market. Surpass assigned revenue targets Maintain corporate documentation of lists, contacts and activity Report on sales metrics, forecast/commits, churn & other key sales metrics Team management - client introductions, attend meetings, help mentor and foster growth for team career goals and revenue expectations Direct reports 2 - Executive Sales Director, Sales Director Qualities: Innovative sales style
