Town of Cape Charles- Treasurer The Town of Cape Charles, a small-town rich in historic charm nestled on the lower peninsula of Virginia's beautiful Eastern Shore, is a lively beach and resort town with a working harbor and tree lined streets. Residents enjoy a slower pace of life, and yet a vibrant art and music scene, as well as immense opportunities for the nature lover. The Town is seeking an energetic candidate with exemplary character and proven experience in accounting and finance (preferably in the public sector) to be our new Town Treasurer . The successful candidate will have the ability to work under deadlines, multi-task, and possess strong supervisory skills. A degree in Accounting or Finance and at least four years of related work experience is required. Familiarity with financial software and proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products is crucial to this role. This is a full-time, exempt, Council appointed position. The Town's Treasurer plays a vital role in overseeing the Town's financial affairs, to include accounts payable, receivable, taxation, audit, collections, general ledger transactions and reconciliations, cash management, financial reporting, debt management, statistical analysis, grant management, and budget preparation and monitoring.
