Best Buy is now imposing its Totaltech subscription on people who plan to purchase an NVIDIA RTX 3000 series GPU. The process is easy for those willing to shell out $200 on the subscription to get the next-generation NVIDIA GPU. Consumers can purchase membership in-store or online, but are required to provide credit card details as it is an auto-renewing service. As for cancellation, it is a bit more complex.

Best Buy will refund the full amount if the Totaltech subscription is canceled within 60 days of purchase. However, the company will deduct the discount for a product purchased when the membership was active. Basically, the benefit of an exclusive offer for Totaltech members will be deducted from the refund amount. In addition, repair and replacement costs will also be subtracted. The same will happen if a membership is canceled after 60 days. Except Bust Buy will now calculate the refund amount based on the days remaining in the billing year after the cancellation date.

Interestingly, Best Buy's FAQ page says that full refunds are offered within 30 days, while the January version of the support document sets the deadline at 60 days, as described above. It is not clear which of the terms is the latter. Therefore, it is recommended to call the support number mentioned above directly and confirm the terms before cancellation. Another caveat is that Totaltech membership covers only one address. Customers who want to take advantage of the benefits in two directions of service must purchase the Total Technical Support Second Residence Membership for $350.
