UAE Visa Overstay Fines: Legal Penalties & Exemptions
Descripción
Overstaying a UAE visa is not a small administrative mistake. In practice, it can affect a person’s ability to renew a visa, exit the country, obtain a new residence permit, or return to the UAE in the future. Whether the overstay happened because of a cancelled employment visa, an expired visit visa, a delayed flight, a family emergency, or a sponsor’s failure to act, the legal position must be handled quickly and correctly. As of the current UAE immigration framework, the standard overstay fine is AED 50 per day after the permitted stay period, or after the applicable grace period, has expired. The ICP lists AED 50 per day for expiry of the permitted stay period or cancellation/expiry of an entry visa, residence permit, exit permit, or newborn registration.
