The Advanced Practice Nurse (APNP) provides direct psychiatric care to consumers served at Journey Mental Health Center. Treatment is provided on-site in a Journey Mental Health Care Center location or via telehealth. Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer and in collaboration with other medical staff, the APNP will be responsible for the psychiatric aspects of clinical care including both initial psychiatric assessments and follow-up visits (or medication reviews). QUALIFICATIONS Essential: ANCC-Certified as an APNP. Meets appropriate state licensing requirements to provide clinical services. Certification across the lifespan. Ability to perform a behavioral health assessment, including assessment for psychiatric illness, substance abuse, and suicide risk. Ability to work with the other clinicians and the consumer to develop a recovery plan Demonstrate ability to work independently andability to function collaboratively as part of a team, seeking and accepting consultation when appropriate. Commitment to working towards improving cultural competence, as demonstrated by valuing difference/diversity, recognizing limitations in personal competencies and expertise, and having concrete ideas about how to improve cultural awareness, knowledge and skills. Commitment to working towards consumer involvement and empowerment within a recovery focused, trauma focused model of care. Commitment to working with consumers with both mental health and AODA issues. Excellent communication skills (both orally, and in writing). Experience in using an electronic health record. Possession of a valid driver's license, a nfavorable driving record, adequate insurance (per state law) and access to a vehicle. Preferred: Demonstrated expertise in providing cross-cultural MH services. Experience in providing telepsychiatry services. Clinical experience in crisis intervention/emergency mental health service.
