The Leechburg School District is seeking applicants for a Food Service Director to manage the overall operation of the District Food Service Program. The position entails planning, purchasing, supervising, and directing personnel in order to provide nutritious breakfast and lunches for the students and staff. Qualifications: 1) Qualifications following the Hiring Standards for New School Nutrition Program Directors effective 8/1/2021. Must have one of the following: a. Bachelors degree, or equivalent educational experience, with academic major in specific areas b. Bachelors degree in any academic major and state-recognized certificate for school nutrition directors. (Bachelors degree with an academic major in areas including food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field.) c. Associates degree or equivalent educational experience, with academic major in specific areas, and at least one year of relevant school nutrition program experience. d. High School Diploma (or GED) and at least three years of relevant experience in school nutrition programs. 2) Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a food service environment 3) Supervisory experience preferred 4) Ability to articulate specific cost savings, procurement and business strategies used to assist with districts on-going commitment to cost containment and operational efficiencies Reports To: Superintendent & Business Manager / Human Resources Director Compensation: Based on Experience Job Goal: To maintain the security and safety of students, staff and facilities of the School District and To provide nutritional breakfast and lunch according to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Guidelines. LASD is looking for an experienced school leader who: 1) Has post-secondary food service training or work experience desirable. 2) Has Serve Safe Food Protection Manager Certification. a. At least eight hours of food safety training is required either not more than 5 years prior to their starting date or completed within 30 days of the employees start date. 3) Complies with all Professional Standard requirements. a. Has at least 12 hours of annual continuing education/training. b. Has a record free of criminal viol
