Job Summary The Director of Development, College of Medicine is a member of the Institutional Advancement (IA) team assigned to develop philanthropic resources for the College of Medicine. This position will play a central role in major gift fundraising and contribute to the enhancement of leadership annual giving and major gift support. They report to the Assistant Vice President, Development - College of Medicine. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Essential Functions Secures leadership annual gifts and major gifts with an emphasis on developing future major donors by pursuing the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of private support from individuals for the College of Medicine Builds and manages a portfolio of prospects. This portfolio will evolve steadily as prospects/suspects are brought to closure, referred to other development officers, or dropped from the portfolio for lack of capacity or inclination Maintains an active schedule of face-to-face meetings with leadership annual fund donors and major gift suspects and prospects, averaging between twelve (12) to fifteen (15) such meetings per month. Manages donors in assigned geographic territories throughout the country Identify and move high level annual giving donors to the major gift pool, helping to grow and feed the donor pipeline Coordinates with the Assistant Vice President and other College of Medicine gift officers in identifying and working with key volu
