Who we are: WVIA is the PBS and NPR affiliate serving over 22 counties in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. What is the role? We have an outstanding executive-level opportunity for a Chief Development Officer (CDO), who will serve as the "right hand" to the President and CEO and is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and management of all fundraising efforts at WVIA As a member of the executive management team, the CDO will work closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and collaborate with senior management to facilitate a culture of philanthropy and grow a sustainable base of support for the organization, in accordance with the WVIA mission. What are the role responsibilities? Provide leadership and direction to the Chief Executive Officer, board of directors and development team in the effective execution of all development activities for WVIA, including individual giving, institutional giving, events, underwriting and planned-giving with a keen focus on major gifts and endowments. Lead the strategic direction and budgeting process of various development departments (Membership, Corporate development, institutional giving and Major Giving) to deliver maximum net revenue while strengthening the WVIA brand. Be a trusted partner to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board; ensuring maximum value from their diverse connections, effectively utilizing their time and personal participation in all strategic fundraising efforts. Be visible and accessible to the donor community; represent WVIA and department initiatives by cultivating and deepening relationships throughout the NE & central PA philanthropic community and beyond.
