About YATB The York Adams Tax Bureau collects earned income tax and other local taxes for 124 member municipalities and school districts in York and Adams counties. YATB employs 40+ full- and part-time customer-service oriented individuals whose mission is Local Tax Collection with Integrity. Last year the Bureau distributed nearly $250 million in tax revenue to our local communities. Each member of our team is a vital part of that process. YATB utilizes a custom-built database and software package to efficiently process individual and employer tax returns. All forms are scanned and data is collected using OCR. Collected data is then verified and processed. Images are stored electronically. Tax revenue collected is allocated and distributed monthly, both to YATB membership and other outside tax collectors. Employer Services I This is a full-time entry-level position that processes and audits employer quarterly local earned income tax returns and other local employer taxes. Employer Services I is required to work on a production basis in the performance of data collection, data entry, data maintenance and taxpayer service functions. The position involves computer skills, mathematical proficiency, and daily interaction with the taxpaying public, both in person and over the phone. We find it takes up to 18 months to become fully proficient with the tax system as well as local tax law. The first 90 days of employment are spent in an orientation/training period. Training continues following the orientation period. Compensation and Benefits The starting rate is $14.50 per hour, increasing to $15.00 per hour upon successful completion of the 90-day orientation period. Merit-based increases are issued annually. Full-time employees receive a full benefit package including: Medical, dental and vision insurance; Supplemental life and disability insurance; 457(b) deferred compensation plan with employer match; 401(a) employer-sponsored pension plan; 10 annual paid holidays; Up to 10 paid sick days annually; Up to four weeks paid vacation. Minimum requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience is helpful but not necessary. The successful applicant will have excellent computer, data entry and written and verbal communication skills
