What We Seek: The University of New Mexico Foundation is seeking an experienced professional and collaborative leader to join the Foundation's executive team. The Chief Financial Officer has responsibility for developing and leading the UNM Foundation's financial strategy and metrics to enable the organization to successfully achieve its vision and mission. The CFO is accountable for all aspects of the UNM Foundation's various financial, accounting, and treasury operations including, but not limited to directing and coordinating financial statement preparations, tax return filings, disbursement of funds; reporting current financial status on a quarterly basis to President/CEO and Board of Trustees; implementing Board policy and by-laws where they pertain to finances; preparation and monitoring annual operating budgets; managing banking and investment consultant relationships; and overseeing Foundation assets. The CFO works closely with and supports the Foundation's Investment Committee to provide timely reporting and implementation of key decisions around the endowment in coordination with the investment advisor. This candidate will be responsible for formulating financial policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance with Board of Trustees' policies, State and Federal fiscal management laws and regulations, and generally accepted accounting standards. What We Require: Extensive experience in accounting and general office software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (or other similar not-for-profit general ledger software) and use of databases; strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or related field and current CPA certification; significant experience in accounting including experience in a chief financial officer, controller, or other senior level finance or accounting position with demonstrated leadership skills and a record of accomplishments; professional experience in finance, accounting, contracts, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reportin
