Senior Purchasing Agent

Responsible for developing and evaluating quotations, placing orders, expediting, providing shipping instructions, ensuring timely delivery, address non-conforming materials and services, and close out of orders. The Senior Purchasing Agent shall provide budget oversight as required to support the management of Company vessels. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external to the organization. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Review requisitions for consumables, spare parts, and service repairs. Solicit requests for quotations when required; receive, record, and review same. Ensure Purchase Orders are only issued to approved vendors. Maintain vessel records and documentation for purchasing transactions. Verify receipt of materials and completion of services. Ability to handle complex problems and develop, evaluate, and implement solutions. Ability to document existing and new procedures Issue shipping instructions to vendors. Coordinate with our freight forwarder to ensure proper paperwork including related customs filings, are completed in a timely manner. Review vendor insurance certificates prior to issuing a service purchase orders. Coordinate storing plans with vessel and agent, as necessary. Investigate non-conforming orders or invoices and arrange for return of incorrect or damaged material to vendors for repair, credit, or exchange. Periodically review open purchase order and requests for quotation in the ERP system. Primary Location: Bala Cynwyd Schedule: Full Time / Pay: Salary Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent 3+ years' experience in purchasing and/or logistics. Prior ABS NS experience a plus. Excellent communication and people skills Working knowledge of Microsoft office; ability to learn a purchasing/invoicing system. Attention to detail, ability to work under extreme time constraints and with a sense of urgency Ability to work after hours and on weekends, as necessary.
