Are you an HR professional and a solid business partner who enjoys providing strategic and tactical support? Are you client-focused, self-motivated and do you have the ability to establish strong working relationships? Times Union is looking for an HR Business Partner to provide guidance and support in all areas of human resources. We're looking for someone with a strong background in Talent Management and Talent Acquisition. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of enhancing organizational performance; developing a competent and committed workforce and building organizational capabilities that directly impact business results. What will you do? Coach, consult, and act as advocate to managers and employees; Identify best practices and process improvement in the delivery of HR services to the company and make appropriate recommendations within the HR Department; Provide expertise on all talent management processes and programs, including performance management and training and development; Develop effective sourcing and recruitment processes that attract top talent, including diversity initiatives and partnerships with community based organizations; Manage on-boarding programs Work with officers of our various labor unions. Help align HR activities to strategic long-term goals What will it take to be successful? Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master's degree and/or PHR/SPHR/SHRM Certification a plus. In-depth knowledge and work experience as an HR Generalist with 5+ years of experience in talent management, change management, labor relations, employee relations, performance management, development, recruitment & retention, policies and procedures and legal compliance. A demonstrated track record of building collaborative relationships and lasting business partnerships across all levels of the organization. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; an ability to objectively analyze current practices, identify process improvement opportunities and successfully influence and implement appropriate changes.
