CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DEPARTMENT: Language LOCATION: Bishop, Bakersfield, Visalia, Fresno SUPERVISOR: Deputy Director SALARY: $58,240.00 to $94,866.82 Position Summary: Under general supervision of the Deputy Director, the Language Manager establishes and monitors program objectives by planning, organizing and supervising all functions and staff required to operate and maintain departmental activities and services for a Language and Cultural Revitalization program. Directly supervises all Language Project Coordinators and assists in curriculum development and ensures all facets of program are administered in accordance with established laws, regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Plans, develops, implements and evaluates meaningful and efficient indigenous Language programs and services for TANF participants and community members. Establishes and implements short and long range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement. Develops, submits and manages grant proposals to further the objectives of the Language program. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; oversees recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff. Oversees and assists in the development and implementation of community language revitalization plans. Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes hiring, discipline, work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
