The Foundation is seeking a controller who will be responsible for overseeing the Foundation's financial reporting process, including the annual audit, compliance audits, ongoing accounting operations, investment accounting, accounts payable, payroll and internal controls. The controller will prepare and monitor the Foundation's administrative budget and develops financial and other reports for management and the Board of Trustees. The controller will interpret and apply technical accounting guidance and will advise on financial, tax and legal issues affecting the Foundation. The controller will manage systems and processes related to this work and will provide guidance on compliance matters as well as key financial and operational best practices. The controller reports to the vice president of Finance and Grants Management. Qualified candidates will have the following: Will be a certified public accountant with a minimum of eight years of accounting or finance experience, including manager-level experience The ability to understand, manage and communicate complex accounting, tax and compliance matters Experience using technology to automate and integrate accounting and related processes Excellent writing, public speaking and presentations skills, including experience presenting complex subject mater to non-expert audiences and high-level decision makers in a strengths-based and positive manner
