Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for an applied technologies laboratory coordinator to prepare equipment, tools and materials for classrooms and career technical laboratories; provide instructional assistance with the operation of equipment and tools used; and demonstrate, train and observe students on safety practices and procedures. Duties include performing a variety of technical, logistical and instructional support activities for one or more instructors in one to multiple classroom and laboratory settings; preparing for, configuring and disassembling equipment for demonstrations and instruction; managing and stocking inventories of equipment, parts, materials and supplies; and selecting and supervising student assistants. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field; three years of work experience in one or more of the following trades: alternative energy, construction, electrician, HVAC, robotics or welding; and a Maryland forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 45 days). Four years of additional work experience in one or more of the trades listed can be substituted for the education requirement. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching or working in an applied technologies laboratory and/or using small equipment. The hours for this position are variable, including some evenings depending on scheduled labs. The starting salary for this position will likely not exceed $73,000 per year, but will be no less than $56,300, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position with excellent fringe benefits.
