The Honeycomb Project put kids at the forefront of social change. For more than a decade, Honeycomb has served as Chicago's go-to organization for family volunteering. We're on a mission to engage, mobilize, and inspire youth to strengthen Chicago's nonprofit sector through volunteerism and philanthropy. During this time of immense need, Honeycomb's programs are vital to our city. Our family-centered projects address a spectrum of regional challenges including food insecurity, housing, environmental conservation, social justice, and public health. Honeycomb kids are stepping up like never before to provide resources and support to more than 40 local nonprofits. 4,000 volunteers representing 98% of Chicago's zip codes participated in our programs last year. Diversified funding streams enable Honeycomb to provide a wide range of in-person and virtual programs that bring families together in the spirit of generosity. Kids work and learn alongside their parents, preparing home-cooked meals at shelters, growing fresh vegetables at city farms, and building nature trails along the Chicago River. Honeycomb's family-centered approach to volunteerism and philanthropy helps to create lasting traditions around service and instill empathy, social awareness, and civic action in young changemakers. Behind the scenes, Honeycomb is a small but mighty organization. Every team member is an ambassador of our mission, believing wholeheartedly in the importance of our work. Our organization's culture embodies innovation, optimism, collaboration, and social awareness. We strive to instill a balance between bold initiatives, thoughtful strategies, rigorous production, and authentic interactions. In each other, we value flexibility, teamwork, integrity, and positivity. Position Overview: The Honeycomb Project is constantly evolving; we are seeking a candidate to join our six-person team who shares our drive to expand our reach and impact. The associate director of development & communications will help create, refine, and implement Honeycomb's development strategy and build the dynamic fundraising team needed for long-term growth. This is a full-time and exempt position and reports to the executive director. Responsibilities: The associate director of development &
