Carpenter Apprentice $25-$30/hour DOE Benefits include: PTO, sick leave, medical/dental/STD/LTD insurance, 401k. Call Rene Robledo at 303.829.1331 or email [email protected] Role Description Hyder Carpenter Apprentices are assigned to a broad range of work tasks including assisting the Carpenter with daily jobsite duties. Responsibilities include laborer supervision, adherence to all safety rules, and mentoring laborers. Key Responsibilities Periodically lead safety meetings Measures distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretches tight line. Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under forms. Levels earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel. Smoothes and finishes freshly poured concrete, using float, trowel, or screed. Erects scaffolding, shoring and braces. Mops, brushes, or spreads paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection. Sprays materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices. Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, jack hammering concrete, and cutting and attaching insulating material. Good understanding of safe work practices and ability to address and correct as needed. Create takeoff for tasks and procure materials. Plan and generate lists for tools and materials for future tasks. Help Superintendents with the planning and set up of projects. Operate equipment on site as needed (i.e. Scissors lifts/snorkel lifts/skid loader/forklift). Core Competencies/Skill Sets Behaves in an honest, fair, and ethical manner. Shows consistency in words and actions. Models high standards of ethics. Treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Listens well and considers and responds appropriately to the needs and feelings of different people in different situations.
