Search #: 496485 Work type: Full-time Location: Storrs Campus Categories: Administrative Services JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Associate Director in the Center for Career Development and in partnership with other colleagues, the Front Desk Operations Assistant provides training and oversight of front desk operations and student employees. The Front Desk Operations Assistant is responsible for independently managing high-level, detailed projects while simultaneously providing exemplary customer service in a high-traffic office environment serving undergraduate and graduate students from a diversity of backgrounds, identities, and disciplines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists supervisor with administrative tasks and activities including appointment scheduling, independently responding to email and phone communication, database management, performing office support functions, such as maintaining office equipment; ordering office supplies, processing purchase requisitions/orders, travel and travel reimbursement, graduate, undergraduate, and special payroll and pro-card allocation. Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and if necessary, termination of student employees. Completes short-term projects such as disseminating marketing collateral, compiling student resources into digital formats, managing internal calendars and room requests, etc. Supports the Center's long-term projects such as collaborating with the programming team for large-scale programming efforts to manage student labor needs and assists in conference planning and coordinating rooms and resources for department functions and events. Assesses student needs and makes appropriate recommendations regarding services and support materials based on deep knowledge of departmental resources. Compiles, maintains, and distributes all incoming resources and materials for the department including keeping track of subscriptions, renewals, and usage. Provides continued support for students from diverse backgrounds, identities, and disciplines by joining the internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and/or through departmental-wide efforts.
