Municipal Engineer Sr. (Division of Engineering) *DEADLINE EXTENDED* Job ID 3824 Location Fayette County SALARY The minimum salary is $63,687.52 annually. This is an exempt position not eligible for overtime. Pay Grade 525. FILING DEADLINE DATE The deadline to apply is Monday, December 28, 2020. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The purpose of this position is to manage public infrastructure projects by performing advanced level engineering duties that protect the welfare of the public and the environment for capital, residential, and/or commercial development and construction, from conception to completion. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in civil, mining, electrical, agricultural, mechanical, or related engineering field; and, a minimum of six (6) years of professional engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Additional education may substitute for experience, but additional experience cannot substitute for the education requirement. Valid Driver's License Must be licensed as a state certified Professional Engineer. Those with an equivalency from another state must obtain Professional Engineer licensure from the Commonwealth of Kentucky within six (6) months of employment as a condition for permanent appointment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manages major projects involving preparation, review, and supervision of designs, specifications, plans, contracts, applications, estimates, and reports involved in the construction and operation of a wide variety of civil engineering work such as sanitary and/or storm sewers, streets and roads, structures, or buildings. Ensures projects conform to design specifications and regulatory standards; directs or conducts field surveys, inspections, and/or evaluations. Coordinates with and advises other divisions, departments, agencies, and the administration. Attends meetings, investigates complaints, and answers questions from the public.
