Local Law 196 of 2017 requires workers at job sites that must designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager to receive OSHA 30 hours of site safety training by December 1, 2019 and an additional 10 hours of training by September 1, 2020 (in effect march1, 2021) (Worker SST40 Card). Supervisors (SST62) will need 62 hours of training by the December 1, 2019 deadline.

A. 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training

B. 8-Hour Fall Prevention Training Prerequisites: None required; students need to be able to verbally communicate with an instructor in the primary language of the training. Training Requirement: Per Local Law 196, in order to continue to operate in the City of New York, some workers and supervisors are required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training. This NYC Department of Buildings-Approved curriculum is a prescribed (required) course that fulfills one of the requirements for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card. (This class will be referred to an authorized NYC DOB training provider, where you will complete your training and be issued your official cards).

C. 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training Training Requirement: Per Local Law 196, in order to continue to operate in the City of New York, some workers and supervisors are required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training. This NYC Department of Buildings-Approved curriculum is a prescribed (required) course that fulfills one of the requirements for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card.
