This position is at Dudley Elementary School. This is a building that serves students in Grades K through 2. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. At least ten years successful experience in education, including teaching, supervision and/or administrative experience at the elementary school level. 2. Graduate study beyond the master's degree with emphasis on elementary school curriculum, supervision and administration. 3. A valid New York State certificate as a School Administrator and Supervisor or School Building Leader. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools SUPERVISES : Assistant Principal and other elementary school staff JOB GOAL: To plan, direct, facilitate and administer the total program of the elementary school through a lens of equity and inclusion. To ensure that students receive the best possible education and services with the resources available, and that the school environment is prepared for our children to learn and grow in a diverse, healthy, safe, and productive place. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Serve as instructional leader for the school. Sets goals for the elementary school, prepares long and short range plans to accomplish these goals, implements the approved priorities, administers the programs, and evaluates the results in accordance with District needs and expectations. 2. Cooperatively establishes and implements guidelines for the administration and supervision of the elementary school program, staff, and students in accordance with the school's needs and the District's expectations. 3. Directs all student discipline, attendance and pupil accounting procedures for the school. 4. Stimulates and encourages effective alternative programming in the school to accommodate diverse student needs. 5. Develops, implements and monitors a plan to ensure the success of new and existing curriculum initiatives. 6. Actively supports the implementation of instructional strategies to ensure diverse learner needs are successfully addressed in each classroom.
