Emergency Management Coordinator Salary $72,657.00 - $97,826.00 Annually Location 3631 Drexler Dr W University Place, WA Job Type Full-time Department Support Services Job Number 08-2022 Closing 1/6/2023 5:00 PM Pacific DESCRIPTION QUESTIONS Position Description West Pierce Fire & Rescue is hiring an Emergency Management Coordinator with a tentative hire date in February 2023. Salary depends on qualifications (education, training and/or experience). The individual selected for this position will receive a conditional offer of employment, identifying placement within the salary range. Employees may be eligible for educational and other pay incentives; reviewed and approved on an individual basis. Please see benefits listed below for additional information. Employees have a variety of schedule options: five 8-hour or four 10-hour workdays, 36/44 schedule (Week 1: four 9-hour workdays, Week 2: four 9-hour workdays and one 8-hour workday) or the flex schedule with five 9-hour workdays (reduced to a 40-hour workweek average by earning 5 hours of time off for each week worked). Remote work may be possible on occasion based on workload and with supervisor approval. Essential Job Functions The Emergency Management Coordinator shall direct, manage, and coordinate all programs and projects relating to emergency plans, exercises, mitigation and recovery for the West Pierce Emergency Management Coalition. CONTROLS OVER WORK: The position shall report to and is accountable to the Deputy Chief of Support Services. Performance is evaluated by the Deputy Chief of Support Services through observation of daily activities, program effectiveness and degree of harmony with citizens, co-workers, media and related outside agencies. The position shall normally work a 40-hour work week schedule, with flexible hours to meet the needs of the District and is exempt from overtime under the FLSA and Washington State Administrative Exemption status. Attendance at required meetings, functions and standby/response to certain alarms during evening hours, weekends and holidays is necessary of the position.
