The Friends Committee on National Legislation seeks a strategic, well-organized individual with 5 or more years' of experience in securing transformative gifts to lead FCNL's planned giving program. The Planned Giving Director, in coordination with development colleagues and other teams, is responsible for all aspects of the program, including strategic direction, donor stewardship, prospect management, marketing, and gift administration. The successful candidate will have a record of success in fundraising and a familiarity with planned giving. This position reports to the Associate General Secretary for Development (CDO). FCNL has the largest group of registered lobbyists working for peace and justice in Washington, DC, and a vibrant network of thousands of volunteer advocates across the country. To support this effort now and in the long-term future, we have built a pipeline of $35 million in documented planned gifts. We are in a strategic planning process that will likely lead to a campaign with a major emphasis on planned giving. The Position Friends Committee on National Legislation's (FCNL) Planned Giving Director oversees, implements, and expands FCNL's planned giving program. The goal of the program is to increase the number and dollar value of new planned gifts by developing a consistent flow of helpful, accurate information to donors about the ways in which they may support FCNL through estate planning or life income gifts. This work includes designing and implementing a multi-channel marketing plan, consulting with and advising major gift officers and organizational leaders, prospect cultivation and solicitation, donor stewardship, managing "back office" gift administration, and closing estate gifts in a timely fashion. FCNL's Planned Giving Director prepares illustrations for initial presentations to donors and prepares calculations and contracts for closing new planned gifts. The position requires meeting with donors, as the Planned Giving Director manages their own portfolio of prospects in addition to having administrative responsibility for the program.
