Position Summary

We are looking for an Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle everything from modern computer-based diagnostic trouble code (DTC) troubleshooting to hands-on mechanical component removal and replacement across a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Perform advanced computer diagnostics to identify, interpret, and resolve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) across all major vehicle systems (engine, transmission, ABS, SRS, body control, and electrical).
Use diagnostic tools (scan tools, multimeters, lab scopes) to trace sensor, wiring, and hardware faults accurately.
Mechanical Repair & Maintenance
Efficiently remove, overhaul, and install automotive components, including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, brakes, exhaust, and heating/AC systems.
Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, fluid flushes, belt and hose replacements, filter swaps).
Quality Control & Safety
Conduct thorough vehicle safety inspections and road-test vehicles to verify proper repair execution.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to shop safety guidelines and environmental disposal standards.
Documentation & Communication
Accurately document diagnostic findings, required repairs, and completed work on repair orders.
Communicate clearly with shop management regarding parts needed, timeline estimates, and additional safety concerns found on vehicles.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

3+ years of professional experience in automotive mechanical repair and electrical/DTC diagnostics.

Technical Competency

Proficiency with scan tools, OBD-II systems, wiring diagrams, and multi-brand vehicle architectures.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate shop lifts and power tools safely.

Tools & Equipment

Possess a complete personal set of hand and power tools appropriate for general auto repair.

Licensing

Valid Drivers License with a clean driving record.

Certifications

ASE Certifications (A1–A8) preferred (or willing to obtain).
