RESPONSIBILITIES Testing & Evaluation Specialists at the NSA develop unit and system tests to evaluate compliance with customer requirements. They also conduct testing and evaluate cyberspace operations capabilities and the effects of developed capabilities. They make recommendations based on results.Testing & Evaluation Specialists apply principles, methods, and tools for testing & evaluating computer or computer-related equipment/computing systems. They are responsible for installing, configuring, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing computer hardware, peripherals, and other equipment.This position has a Cyberspace Workforce Improvement Program (CWIP) requirement. Candidates accepted to fill this position will be required to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M approved certification within six (6) months of assignment. Interested parties currently pursuing certification are also encouraged to apply. Additional requirements may be placed against the selectee, based on requirements defined within DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M 'Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program'. SKILLS The ideal candidate is someone with a desire for experiential learning and strong problem-solving, analytic and interpersonal skills who is:- willing to take the initiative- innovative- able to work effectively across several different functional areas in a collaborative environment- able to communicate effectively (both orally and written)- well-organized and able to handle multiple assignmentsExperience and knowledge of systems engineering, test and evaluation tradecraft, and software engineering is helpful. Working knowledge of automation tools and Linux is helpful. PAY BENEFITS & WORK SCHEDULE Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.Salary Range: $74,682 - $176,300 (Entry to Expert)On-the job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible).
