South Plains Association of Governments is accepting applications for the following position: Full Time Area Information Center Information and Referral Specialist, 2-1-1 Texas South Plains Duties include: Answer phone inquires for information regarding community services. Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours per day answering phone calls Provide appropriate referrals to clients from an internal database Seek to follow up response(s) regarding outcomes and effectiveness of referrals(s). Attend program-related training to acquire mandatory certifications. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Basic knowledge of community resources Computer knowledge required Effective communication skills both oral and written Bilingual ability (Spanish and English) preferred Ability to work well with all types of people. Baccalaureate degree (or currently enrolled) in social sciences, public or business administration, education, or related field OR Associates Degree (or currently enrolled) in the appropriate field and two years experience with non-profit community in the South Plains region or any appropriate combinations of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pay commensurate with levels of experience.
