Position Summary: The Psychology Department at UW Platteville invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position with anticipated start date of August 2023. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, research and scholarly activity, and university and departmental service. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Those with experience teaching first generation college students, and/or teaching undergraduates are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility will be teaching undergraduate courses in introductory and advanced research methods, as well as General Psychology and other courses related to the candidate's expertise, preferably in developmental, cognitive, or social psychology. Other responsibilities include teaching courses that contribute to the Ethnic Studies Program and/or Women's and Gender Studies Program; initiating a program of research and scholarly activity (preferably involving undergraduate students); engaging in academic advising; and participating in department, college, university and community service and outreach activities. Faculty are also expected to participate in curriculum development, assessment, and revisions. What You'll Need to Succeed: Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in experimental, developmental, cognitive, social, or educational psychology Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience teaching at least one (semester long) undergraduate course Demonstration of scholarly productivity through presentations and/or publications To be considered for this position, applicants must respond to all required qualifications.
