Shop Helper - HVAC - Montclair

A Shop Helper will be working at a fast-paced manufacturing and fabrication environment. This role is crucial for assisting skilled fabricators, keeping production moving, and maintaining a safe warehouse floor.

Key Responsibilities • Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize raw materials like galvanized sheet metal, stainless steel, and aluminum. Safely transport heavy components across the shop floor. • Fabrication Assistance: Assist sheet metal technicians and machinists with setting up machinery, holding parts, or securing ductwork components during production. • Basic Tool Operation: Safely use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and saws to cut or finish basic sheet metal pieces under direct supervision. • Shop Maintenance & Safety: Perform continuous cleaning and general housekeeping. Sweeping work stations, removing metal scraps/trash, and ensuring the facility meets strict safety guidelines. • Inventory & Distribution: Support shipping and receiving by tagging fabricated items, verifying orders, and staging completed ductwork for delivery trucks.
