Learn more about the abolitionist who led a small army to raid the federal arsenal in Harpers Ferry in an effort to end slavery in the United States and the monument dedicated in his honor on the hillside overlooking Akron.

We'll start from the Akron Zoo parking lot - enter off Euclid Avenue - and hike to the ridge that was once part of Mutton Hill, land owned by Col. Simon Perkins for grazing his Merino Saxony sheep.

The program is free and open to the public. Please dress according to the weather and wear appropriate footwear for hiking on an uneven terrain.

Tour will occur rain or shine.
