Summary Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol or drug abuse, by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Interviews clients, client intake process, review records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate condition of client; Maintains a caseload of OARS clients (Funded, Medicaid, and or a combination) Formulates with client treatment plan and program for treatment; Counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist client in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency; Counsels family members to assist family in dealing with and providing support for client; Refers clients to other support services as needed such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, and employment services; Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed; Prepares and maintains reports and case histories; CMBHS client data entry; Maintains client files in compliance with State Regulations and CARF Standards; Formulates and conducts programs to promote prevention of alcohol and drug abuse; Schedules and attends client case treatment reviews meetings; Enforces clients fees by utilizing the Welcome Station/Methware System; Addresses and reinforces the client program rules, policies and procedures; Maintains client attendance log in client files for program attendance compliance; Attends CTI training weekly and maintains all CTI hours documented in a Binder for verification (CI only); Processes caseload individual intakes as scheduled and acquire QCC signature (CI only); Assist in clinical supervision to counselor interns and QCC as needed (LCDC only); Assists in urinalysis collections for all programs; and Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor, Clinical Director and or CEO; Certificates, Licenses, Registration Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with one year experience in substance abuse treatment.
