Key Responsibilities:
Receiving Shipments:
Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
Check the goods for accuracy (matching them with purchase orders or packing lists).
Inspect for damage or defects and report any issues.
Storage and Organization:
Store products and materials in the correct locations in the warehouse.
Use shelving, bins, and pallets to organize items.
Make sure that stock is easily accessible and arranged in a way that ensures safety and efficiency.
Inventory Management:
Track and manage inventory levels (e.g., using barcode scanners, RFID, or inventory management software).
Help with regular stocktaking or cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Report low stock levels or discrepancies to supervisors.
Order Fulfillment:
Pick and pack items based on customer orders or sales orders.
Prepare shipments by labeling boxes and ensuring the correct items are in the right packages.
Ensure that orders are packed securely to prevent damage during shipping.
Shipping:
Prepare goods for shipment by arranging them for pick-up or delivery.
Load items onto trucks or delivery vehicles.
Ensure that shipment paperwork is accurate and complete.
Material Handling:
Use forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment to move large or heavy items.
Ensure that all equipment is used safely and that the warehouse environment is clear of hazards.
General Warehouse Maintenance:
Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
Ensure that work areas are safe and free of debris.
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning tasks on equipment and tools.
Safety Compliance:
Follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisors.
Ensure that the warehouse complies with safety regulations and standards.
Assist with Special Projects:
Occasionally help with tasks like reorganizing the warehouse, seasonal inventory updates, or helping implement new systems or technology.
