HOPE’S LATINA ACTION DAY® POLICY ISSUES CONFERENCE MOBILIZES LATINAS FROM ACROSS CALIFORNIA TO ENSURE AN EQUITABLE RECOVERY FROM COVID-19

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality® (HOPE) will host its public policy issues conference, the 27th Annual Latina Action Day®, on April 26th-28th virtually via Zoom. COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted the Latino community and women in California, and Latinas have borne the brunt of some of its most negative effects on both their health and economic standing, while simultaneously working on the frontlines of the pandemic. As California looks ahead to recovery from COVID-19, HOPE’s Latina Action Day conference hones in on some of the top issues impacting the wellbeing of Latinas including equitable economic recovery strategies, pathways to closing opportunity gaps in education, and increasing Latina representation in the state’s political offices. Built on the values of representation and advocacy, the three-day conference will convene thought leaders, decision-makers, and experts to discuss these important issues while centering the voices, experiences, and priorities of Latinas.
