MDN Employment Services Job Coach will work with adults with mild-moderate intellectual disabilities, assisting them to find employment. This is a hands-on, community-based position that requires strong emotional resilience, patience, and a passion for helping others reach employment goals. It is not a desk job or simple supervision role. Candidates must be comfortable with behavioral support, direct coaching in the community, and navigating challenges with a solutions-first mindset The day-to-day responsibilities would include participant pick up and drop offs at their homes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses a variety of job coaching methods to meet the needs of both the participant and the employer at the client's place of work.
Picks up and drops off individual from their home.
Drives their personal car throughout the day taking the individual to internship sites as well as the library for pre-employment training.
Identifies and evaluates how well participants do their jobs.
Helps participants learn how to apply for and gain skills sets to obtain a job.
Keeps track of the progress of all assigned participants, with writing of daily and monthly notes of the progress.
Interventions for participants may include, but are not limited to, counseling, advocacy, job coaching, skill training, assessment, and referral. Participants may also receive counseling, advocacy, job coaching, skill training, assessment, and referral.
Onboarding Requirements:
Must have at least a few months of experience or exposure with working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
