A restaurant host is responsible for welcoming guests, seating them, and ensuring they have a good experience. Hosts are often the first point of contact for customers, so they should have excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor. Other responsibilities include:

Greeting guests

Hosts should make guests feel welcome and ensure they get a good first impression of the restaurant.

Managing reservations

Hosts should answer phone calls and take reservations. They may also need to be able to use computerized reservation systems.

Seating customers

Hosts should find tables for guests and lead them to their seats. They may also need to make sure seating arrangements and other special requests are ready before guests arrive.

Collaborating with the restaurant team

Hosts may need to communicate with other staff, such as managers, vendors, and the kitchen, to ensure efficient service.

Required Qualifications:

Prior food and beverage industry experience preferred
Prior guest relations training
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive, upbeat attitude and personality
Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
Punctuality and reliable attendance
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public
Schedule Requirements:

Must be available to work mornings and evening shifts
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
