Metal shop manufacturing company in Montebello looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair manual machine tools and equipment in our machine shop. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and safe operation of lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, saws, and other traditional shop equipment.

1st shift: 7am - 3:30pm
Monday - Friday / must be open to work overtime and weekends as needed
Pay rate: $30.00
Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manual machine tools and shop equipment.
Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs or adjustments on components such as gears, spindles, leadscrews, motors, pulleys, and bearings.
Align and calibrate machines to ensure proper operation and machining accuracy.
Maintain and service hydraulic and pneumatic systems on applicable shop machinery.
Lubricate moving parts and maintain lubrication systems in accordance with maintenance schedules.
Support equipment installations, modifications, and retrofits as needed.
Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed using maintenance logs or CMMS tools.
Ensure that machines meet safety and operational standards, and assist in identifying potential hazards.
Collaborate with machinists and supervisors to understand machine issues and prioritize repairs.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with 5S and workplace safety practices.
Experience:

3+ years in mechanical maintenance with direct experience maintaining manual machine tools.
Familiarity with common shop machines such as engine lathes, vertical/horizontal mills, surface grinders, drill presses, and bandsaws.
Skills:Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read mechanical blueprints and manuals.
Knowledge of machine alignment techniques, fitting tolerances, and backlash adjustment.
Basic skills in welding, fabrication, and hand tool use.
Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to identify wear and diagnose mechanical problems in older or heavily used equipment.
