Function:
Maintenance Mechanic– Is responsible for the daily maintenance, repairs and installation of
industrial machinery, equipment, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems. Ensures that all
production equipment is maintained and in proper operating order. Ability to diagnose equipment
and machinery failures or problems and takes corrective action with minimal supervision. Performs
preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery, reviews and maintains logs for repairs,
service operations and complaints related to the equipment. Responsible for all building and facilities
repair and maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Repairs and troubleshoots electrical and mechanical equipment such as Repacks, Vmags, Reiser’s.
2. Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilities
equipment.
3. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs
schedule maintenance service.
4. Dismantles defective machines and equipment to uncover mechanical problems.
5. Performs simple machinists’ duties and responsibilities.
Installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
6. Responsible for all building and facilities repair and maintenance.
7. Performs all work in accordance with environmental, health, and safety standards, rules, regulations
and practices of the facility.
8. Forklift Driver as needed
9. Will communicate with supervisor on continual basis.
10. Supervisor may assign other jobs as necessary.
Competencies:
1. A strong background in repairing, maintenance, and troubleshooting
2. Knowledge of hand and power tools/equipment and electrical functions and equipment.
3. Ability to work efficiently and effectively and possess excellent time management skills.
4. Knowledge of and ability to run fork lift and pallet jack.
5. Be able to identify product by size, type, style and color or product code.
6. Extensive knowledge of U.S system of weights and measures.
7. Understanding of labeling, coding, and accuracy in records very important.
8. Ability to understand and execute instructions including all USDA regulations.
9. Able to work in a fast pace environment.
