Shift
5:00 PM – 1:30 AM (Overtime and weekends as required)
Job Summary
The Sit-Down Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading, and storage of materials and finished products within the facility. This position supports production and shipping operations while maintaining safety, quality, and sanitation standards during the evening shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate sit-down forklift safely to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
Load and unload trucks accurately and efficiently
Stage materials for production and prepare finished products for shipment
Maintain proper inventory movement and follow procedures
Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance issues
Keep work areas clean and organized in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures
Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse staff, and production teams
Complete required documentation and logs accurately
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Minimum 1 year of sit-down forklift experience preferred
Experience in food processing or manufacturing environment a plus
Ability to read labels, follow instructions, and complete basic paperwork
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and operate equipment for extended periods
Lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
Work in cold, wet, or refrigerated environments if required
Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting
Work Environment
Manufacturing/food processing facility
Exposure to noise, machinery, and temperature variations
Evening shift with possible overtime and weekend work
