Job Summary: The General Labor Warehouse Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to assist with the movement, organization, and storage of goods in a warehouse setting. This role involves physical labor, teamwork, and attention to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading: Move materials, products, and goods into and out of the warehouse.
Inventory Control: Assist with inventory checks and maintain accurate stock levels by organizing products on shelves, ensuring proper labeling.
Product Handling: Move, stack, and arrange goods and products in designated storage areas.
Order Picking: Retrieve items from shelves according to order specifications, ensuring accuracy in fulfilling customer orders.
Packing: Pack products in boxes, crates, or containers for shipping while ensuring product protection and proper labeling.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by sweeping, mopping, and ensuring equipment is in good working condition.
Shipping and Receiving: Assist with receiving incoming shipments and checking them for accuracy and damages.
Equipment Operation: Use manual or powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) to move heavy materials, following all safety protocols.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure efficiency and meet deadlines.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to lift heavy objects (typically 25-50 lbs or more).
Basic math skills for inventory tracking.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in product handling.
Good physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and move for long periods.
Ability to operate or learn to operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks (may require certification).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Previous warehouse or labor experience preferred but not required.
